A Frame by Dui Jarrod

From two-time Emmy-nominated filmmaker Dui Jarrod, RUN AWAY (The Act of Writing) is a live performance and free-speech space that reimagines Shakespeare’s All the World’s a Stage through the lens of the modern Black experience.

Structured as a portrait in fragments, the work unfolds across seven visual meditations on life: infancy, boyhood, love, battle, justice, aging, and rebirth. Each frame is both personal and political, weaving together image, letter, and sound into a living testimony on manhood, identity, and creative resistance.

RUN AWAY is not a play, it is a call to witness. A meditation on becoming. A declaration that writing itself is freedom.
